Terms and Conditions for Membership Registration in the Odisha Society of the United Kingdom (OSUK)
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering as a member of the Odisha Society of the United Kingdom (OSUK), you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. These terms apply to all members and govern all interactions within OSUK and any related activities, events, or services.
2. Eligibility
Membership is open to individuals who have a connection to Odisha, India, through heritage, cultural interest, or personal association, and who reside in the United Kingdom. Members must be at least 18 years old to join independently. Members under 18 are welcome under a family membership and must be registered by a parent or guardian.
3. Membership Types and Fees
OSUK offers several types of memberships (Free and Paid) with corresponding fees, which are subject to change as decided by the OSUK committee. Membership fees are non-refundable once payment has been made, except under exceptional circumstances as determined by the OSUK committee.
4. Privacy and Data Protection
OSUK values the privacy of its members. Personal information provided during registration will be stored securely and used solely for society activities, communication, and organizational purposes, in accordance with relevant data protection laws. By registering, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in OSUK’s Privacy Policy.
5. Code of Conduct
Members are expected to conduct themselves respectfully toward other members and the public, upholding the values of OSUK.
Any form of harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in membership suspension or termination.
Members are encouraged to participate actively in society events and to promote Odisha’s culture, values, and heritage.
6. Events and Activities
OSUK organizes cultural, social, and educational events for members. Participation is voluntary and at the member’s own risk.
Members are required to adhere to any additional rules, guidelines, or codes of conduct specific to OSUK events.
7. Termination of Membership
Members may choose to discontinue their membership at any time by notifying the OSUK committee in writing via email.
OSUK reserves the right to terminate or suspend any membership if a member violates these terms and conditions or any applicable laws.
In the event of termination, no refund of membership fees will be issued.
8. Limitation of Liability
OSUK is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage that may occur during society events, activities, or as a result of interactions with other members.
Members are responsible for their personal belongings and safety during any OSUK event.
9. Modifications to Terms and Conditions
OSUK reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Members will be notified of significant changes.
Continued membership and participation in OSUK after changes to the terms constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Governing Law
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with UK jurisdiction.
